Distilled at The Benrinnes Distillery in November 1997. Bottled in Glasgow April 2012. Aged 14 years old at 46.0% alc/vol. Un chill filtered, no artificial colouring.
A rich and very pleasant aromatic malt with a medium body. Long and robust dry finish.
Benrinnes, one of the dominant peaks of Speyside is the picturesque setting of Benrinnes Distillery, thought to have been founded in the early 1820’s. The mountain provides the water source for the making of the whisky. The distillery was closed briefly in the 30’s and in 1943. It was extensively rebuilt in the 50’s. Benrinnes is used extensively for Blending and is the major ingredient of Crawford’s blend at one time one of the big five blending houses of the mighty Distillers Company. The other four being Haig, Johnnie Walker, White Horse and Dewars.
